Words from the Chairman
SAWASDEE KRUB
Welcome to Bangkok, and to the 28th SEA Cup, which we at BSL are very proud to once again take our turn in hosting.
This will be my third SEA Cup and what sticks in the mind from my previous two is both the warmth of the welcome and the quality of the football. Our friends at KLYS Kuala Lumpur and ANZA Singapore have set the bar high, and I hope that we can match their fine efforts over this weekend in Thailand.
I am also very happy that we are, for the first time ever, able to expand the tournament this year to the u11 and u9 age groups. I trust that they will come to enjoy the tournament as much as the older players have done these past 28 years.
It really is a remarkable achievement to keep a youth football tournament running for this long, but there is something special about this competitions that makes it one of the high points of our football calendar. It is unique, and I hope that our younger players will also feel a part of that.
"Amongst all unimportant subjects, football is by far the most important.” This is one of my favorite quotes (and if you don’t know, you can Google to find its author!), and I can’t think of a better sentiment to wish you all a fantastic weekend of football and friendship.
May the best team win on the pitch, and may we all win off of it.
